Martin Hall has been one of the most respected voices in the game of golf,
And it has been my privilege to train with him since late 2019. A Master PGA Professional of Great Britain and Ireland and the 2008 PGA of America National Teacher of the Year, he is also widely known as the longtime host of the Golf Channel’s School of Golf, part of the NBC family of networks.
Over time, Martin witnessed something very personal and profound. In December of 2022, as my physical transformation took hold, I was seeing him about every other week. In roughly four and a half months, he watched me transform right before his eyes. The speed of it genuinely startled him. He was amazed not only by the physical change, but by the energy, movement, and control that came with it.

Now, in the interest of full disclosure, my golf game has not quite reached that same level of near perfection. When I first arrived, I was the proud owner of a collection of bad habits that could have been framed and hung in a museum. Martin has done an exceptional job cleaning up many of them, and my game has improved because of it. That said, I remain a work in progress. What can I say? It is golf. Quite possibly the most difficult game ever devised, and I am doing my part to prove it.
Martin became one of the first endorsers of my work and a genuine fan of my writing, including The Near Perfect Body and The Near Perfect Key. I say without hesitation that, in my opinion, he is the near perfect golf instructor, and I introduce him that way in the many lesson videos he has graciously allowed me to record. Those moments, along with the lessons themselves, are something I look forward to sharing through The NPB Society as it continues to take shape.
